WEEK 6

A good time to reflect on these first weeks as we come into a recovery week.

If I've learnt anything in triathlon it is that consistency plays a critical role in achieving desired outcomes, and whilst we are still 14 week away from the one day from which this entire preparation will be judged, consistency starts from the moment you 'flick the switch' and because words are boring here is what consistency looks like in pictures.

Achieving consistency comes from so many factors.  Unquestionably it is fatigue that plays a critical role sending it sideways.

Nothing beats the notion of 'how you feel', your body won't lie, but sometimes the mind can.  Trying to tell yourself your fine, when clearly you're not.  I've found the PMC chart on TrainingPeaks helpful in this regard, not so much in the 'what's happened', but more in the 'what's going to happen'.  Forecasting TSS seems to be keeping everything in check, but again we won't really know it's effectiveness until October 14.

I'm in need of some recovery and lighter load for a week, my body is telling me that, and I'm willing to listen.

1358 TSS points for the week from a forecast 1314.

Happy with where things are sitting, but geeeeeeezzzz there's a long way to go.  Some people wouldn't have even started yet...
