At 26, in the sport of triathlon Adam Smiddy was cut down in his prime by skin cancer.  His legacy and the charity Smiling for Smiddy continue to do amazing work for Mater Cancer Research and Support.

Like so many Australian's I have been directly effected by skin cancer, there is a well known dark side to our bright blue skies.

At 28, I noticed a mole on my back that I hadn't really noticed before.  After an immediate check up, it was diagnosed and within 48 hours cut out.  I can feel it every morning.  It's a reminder how lucky I was, a few more months may have meant a very different outcome.

Smiddy's story resonates with me on many levels, and I want to do my bit to help.

On August 30th, I will be competing at Ironman Vichy (France).
I'm hoping you can pledge a donation, with an added twist.  A donation if I complete the race time in under 9 hours and a donation if I complete over 9 hours.  For example you may say $100 for under 9 hours and $50 for over 9 hours.  Give me something to chase down!!

Pledges can remain anonymous if you wish, and following the race some very simple instructions will be forwarded so you can make your donation direct.

This is such a worthy cause.  Take a look at this video -

Thanks in advance, and at the very least go get a check up.
Most places do it for free!
